Financial help for families to avoid eviction, maintain basic utilities, and meet other emergency needs. Referrals are required from Health Dept. or Metrolina Aids, Child’s Place or through schools. All in person visits are at 7:45AM. Social Security documentation is required. Less formal requirements apply to help with clothing and appliances which can be obtained through a minister’s referral.

Lissette Garcia-Johnson handles “labor issues” – immigrants who do not get paid properly for their work. “Under Federal labor laws, illegal immigrants are entitled to the same rights as workers born here.”
