The successful candidate should be able to incorporate a variety of music into a meaningful blended worship service. Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music and 3-5 years experience in a church music program is desired. Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills are required. The Director will be responsible for: Building and maintaining personal relationships with the youth. This includes familiarity with the challenges and personal interests of youth membership. The Director will serve as a source of support and guidance to the youth through the formal programming of the church as well as informal opportunities such as home visits, attending sporting events or concerts, etc. Providing Christian spiritual leadership to the youth of the church. The Director will reflect a sound theological perspective and practical devotional life. The Director will work with other leaders in the church to develop meaningful Bible studies and other educational opportunities to enhance the spiritual development of the youth of Saint Francis United Methodist Church. Providing enthusiastic leadership in the area of Christian identity. The Director will value and promote the Biblical model of the Church as the Body of Christ. The Director will lead in the area of Christian unity, promoting team building and framing the youth ministry of Saint Francis within the larger story of the Church. Recruiting, supporting and maintaining participation of youth, parents and lay leadership within the youth ministry of the church. The Director will identify, plan, and promote engaging Christian programming for the youth. The Director will recruit appropriate adult leaders to assist in the execution of these programs and other activities relating to the youth ministry of the church. Developing, monitoring the annual budget of the youth ministry. The Director will oversee the budget relating to the ministries of the church. This will include appropriate use of financial resources as well as identifying needs and making recommendations to the Finance Committee relating to the church’s youth ministry. Associate’s degree is required. Bachelor’s degree in Christian Education is preferred. Special consideration will be given to candidates with prior experience working with youth in a United Methodist setting.
